HELP FOR HURRICANE HELENE FRIENDS

My prayers go out to all of our friends whom have been affected by this dangerous hurricane.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP?  PLEASE LET US KNOW.

In the meantime, I have put together a list of some organizations we can donate to to help.  I am happy to keep expanding the list as I hear from all of you:

CONVOY OF HOPE, THE SALVATION ARMY, AMERICAN RED CROSS, UNITED WAY, SAMARITAN’S PURSE, OPERATION BLESSING, ALL HANDS AND HEARTS, SAVE THE CHILDREN, AMERICARES,  NORTH CAROLINA DISASTER RELIEF FUND, GREATER GOOD CHARITIES (FOR PETS), AND THE HUMANE SOCIETY (ANIMAL RESCUE).

Many of the above organizations have a specific area on their websites so that you can donate to help the Hurricane Helene victims.

OTHER WAYS WE CAN HELP OUR FRIENDS IN NEED:

Help people clean up their homes if possible.

Offer to pick up and do their laundry.  Especially those whose clothes got wet due to flooding.

Get cleaning supplies for them such as shovels, bleach, pump sprayer bottles to put bleach in to kill mold.

Make a meal and take it to them.  Or purchase a meal and take it to them.

Help find temporary housing for them.  Possibly, someone would be willing to let them stay for free or at a discounted rate.

And let’s please continue to pray for everyone.

XOXO Sharon

STRESS

Where do you hold tension in your body?  Ever thought about that?  Mine seems to move around my body from time to time.

I presently hold stress in both of my shoulders and my stomach which often effects my digestion.  I have found that I tend to hold my breath when I am stressed and in fact  the very thing we should do during these times is breathe and breathe deeply.  If I can catch myself doing it, I will make a conscious effort to do some deep breathing.

How do you relieve stress?  I love yoga very much and it definitely helps the stress levels.  Right now I am currently enjoying Yoga With Adrienne on YouTube.  She has many different shows but the one that seems to be working best for me is Yoga For Tension Relief.  It is 28 minutes which is perfect for me in this chapter of my life and I feel SO much better once I invest that time in myself.

How about you?

SUMMER VILLA

Last night was a rainy night and perfect for settling in with a good movie.  So, after making a delicious dinner of baked fish, roasted potatoes and a vegetable medley, it was movie time.

I started looking through the many choices of movies on Hulu but nothing intrigued me.  I finally decided I was in the mood for a Hallmark movie.  I hadn’t watched one in months and knew it was the perfect choice for a rainy night as they always make my heart happy.

Scrolling through the many choices I finally decided upon Summer Villa.  A movie about, Terry, a writer with writer’s block and a chef, Matthew, whose career is sinking. Perfect!  Two of my favorite subjects writers and chefs!

Without giving the entire movie away (in case you want to watch it) they both (along with her daughter, Abby) end up at the same villa in France for the summer.  Through twists and turns they finally find their way.  She is now able to write again and he is now able to cook magnificent food again and of course a romance evolves.

What a great movie!  Just what I needed and of course a few tissues were involved because that’s just me.

Have you seen it?
