Fun In The Sun

Good morning 😀 Getting off to a late start today cuz I may or may not have stayed up late watching the movie called Why Him?…OMG what a funny movie.. I had wanted to see it when it came out in the theaters but never got there. I am gonna buy it now cuz it’s definitely a movie to pop in when I need a good laugh. (Just my opinion).

So today is the day!!! I’m headed to St. Pete Beach for a day of fun in the sun!….Can’t wait to walk along the beach, listening to the waves crashing, while the sun shines brightly in the sky. It’s a bit windy today so for me that’s perfect! Later after I have my fill of beach time, I will head back to where I am staying, shower and get ready for a night on the town! I thought we would go to a restaurant I have been wanting to go to and check it out, maybe grab an appetizer there instead of a meal and then head out to check out a few more places…Don’t worry, I will be sure to take pics! 😎

THE NEXT DAY…

Whew!! What a fabulous day I had yesterday. The plans changed a little from the original plan but hey, no worries!..the joys of being flexible…so the day started having lunch first at one of my favorite restaurants in the St. Pete Beach area. It’s called Mad Beach Fish House and it is located in Madeira Beach. http://madbeachfishhouse0.homestead.com/

I started off with peel and eat shrimp and boy were they good! And Huge! For my entree I had the Mad Beach burger with lettuce, onion, tomato and pickle with fries and coleslaw…Yum! Yum! And my friend had the conch chowder to start and the fried shrimp basket with fries and coleslaw and it was also delicious!! I have been there many times for lunch and dinner and I will say that I have always been pleased with the staff and the food and of course the beautiful view! If you sit outside you have a choice of either a table overlooking the ocean or a table overlooking the bay. Both are beautiful!

After being so stuffed I could hardly move, it was time to head to the store for sunscreen and then off to the beach!…After finding the perfect parking spot, we headed to the soft sand that was calling our names. I have to say that I love that first step into the sand, the feel of the sun shining on my body and the first glance at the beautiful ocean gets me every time 😛

The wind blew just enough so it was very comfortable walking along the beach so we walked probably a mile up the beach and a mile back. I love getting some sun while also getting in some exercise. Win Win!!

I also enjoy the different sights you see at the beach. We saw a blow up pool someone brought and a fairly large one at that and then there were some small children in their own makeshift pool that was perfectly carved out of the sand with shovels by their parents and then filled with water. Pretty clever, I must say.

After a nice long walk, I decided to lay out for awhile on my towel and enjoy the waves and continue my people watching…it was such a beautiful day and I reminded myself that I needed more of these days and more frequently…I have taken pictures to capture the moment because I didn’t want you to miss a thing 😀
