It’s a brand new year! Yahoo! Welcome 2017!
I love to take the first day of each new year to reflect on the year that has passed and plan for the fresh start of a year full of new beginnings and blessings. I am thankful for all of the beautiful family and friends in my life and for waking up each day and enjoying it to its fullest.
Things I will do differently this year:
Take time each day for myself. Yes, this is perfectly ok. If you were brought up in a society that said that is selfish, I am here to tell you that is untrue. It is very important and extremely healthy to do so. When we take time for ourselves each day it actually gives us more happiness and peace and we then have more of that on the inside to share with others on the outside.
Spend less time around energy stealers. You know who I am talking about. We all have people in our lives that want us to get wrapped up in their drama but they are unwilling to grow and change. Send them your best but stay in your place of peace.
Exercise more. Ride my bike on a regular basis and walk more. I always feel so much better when I am exercising.
Spend more time with family and friends. I do try my best to do this but there are some that I definitely need to see more.
Travel more. I used to travel a lot but the last few years I haven’t very much. There are places I want to visit and people yet to meet. (Like all of you 🙂 )
Work more diligently on my blog and expand my audience. I am excited for the opportunity to reach people who are wanting to improve their lives, grow and expand their horizons.
Things I will continue to do again this year:
Being thankful. Every day I wake up, before getting out of bed, I take a few moments to say what I am thankful for. I am blessed to have wonderful family and friends, my health, the day ahead to enjoy, new people I will meet and new adventures I will encounter.
Eat healthy. I love to cook and am constantly creating new recipes. The kitchen is like my laboratory. When I come up with a new delicious recipe I say Wow, Sharon, great job!
Experience joy each day. Whether I am driving in the car, walking, sitting outside, I always find something joyful in the day. Maybe it’s a cloudless day or many clouds or rainy or I see pretty flowers or a smiling child. I always take a moment to enjoy.
LAUGH. They say laughter is the best medicine and I soo agree! No matter what is going on in your life, always keep your sense of humor! Even if you are laughing and no one is around. Do it! 😎
How about you? What are some things you will do differently this year? And what things will you continue to do?
XOXO Sharon
